Is my chat private?

The chat is between you and the bot, and as private as any one-on-one “direct message” chat on Telegram or Discord. Bots cannot participate in secret chats in Telegram, so it is not end-to-end encrypted.

Per our privacy policy we have to store some data about you (e.g. your Telegram or Discord Id so we know it’s you again) and about the chat (e.g. your messages, otherwise we can’t generate any useful responses). But this content is stored securely on the server and not shared with anyone else apart from Telegram or Discord.

How do I use the chatbot?

You chat to the chatbot as though it’s a real person via your Telegram or Discord client of choice. The first time you use it, you will be required to accept our Terms of Service and confirm you are over 18. You will have the option to tell the AI something about yourself as well so it can tailor its responses to you. For instructions, read:

The Privacy Policy says you store my IP address?

That’s referring to this website you are reading now. Every website logs traffic and that will include you IP address. Rest assured, there’s no way for us to determine your IP address via the Telegram Bot API. The only identifying things about you we store during chats are:

• Your Telegram or Discord User Id
• Your Telegram username / handle
• Any personal information you send in the chat (we recommend you don’t share personal information with the bot, these bots are designed for fun role play, not to share secrets with)

What are your Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

This is a hobby project running off a computer in a bedroom. If it stops working, we will feel bad about it, but that’s all we can promise.

How does it work?

When you chat to the bot for the first time, it records your Telegram or Discord User ID as well as your acceptance of the Terms of Service and affirming you are 18+. You can then chat to the bot normally.

The server checks for new messages on Telegram, when it finds them, it sends the new message (and chat history) to the LLM which generates the next message.

Are you using my messages to train or fine tune the LLM?

No, the LLM has already been trained, it’s just responding to the system prompt, your messages and the chat history. It does not have a “memory” as such.

What LLM model are you using?

This is going to change as publicly available models get better, but the model is one that’s publicly available on Huggingface.

What chat clients are supported?

We currently support interaction via Telegram and Discord.

Where is the server?

Currently a physical desktop server in Australia running a single GPU (graphics processing unit). This service does not use publicly available LLMs like OpenAI’s ChatGPT for the obvious reason that those LLMs are very decidedly not yiffy!

Can more than one person talk to the same bot at a time?

If two people talk to the same bot at the same time, they will have separate conversations (just like a normal chat with another person). You won’t be able to see each others messages unless you “Forward” them. We recommend don’t forward messages from the bot. Keep things private!

Group chats are not yet supported, and probably never will be since that’s a very tricky roleplay environment.

What can I chat about?

Per our Terms of Service, please avoid illegal or objectionable material. The bot should respond generally well to most other kinds of roleplay. The bot won’t allow underage characters or talk of suicide.

Why are you limiting the number of messages I get per day?

We have limited resources for generating messages, so we have to limit everyone to a set small number of free “tokens” per day. Coming soon will be the ability to pay for more tokens. Let us know how you would like that to work by contacting us.

Can the content be personalized?

You can specify information about yourself and the AI will change its responses based on what you say. If you want to make a custom bot with a custom system prompt (e.g. to role play as you with your audience) please contact us.
